Board Of Director Biographies

Becky McDaniel,Chairperson

Director McDaniel has been a resident of Rio Linda since 1986. She began her career in recreation at age 15 with the City of Vacaville working in the youth sports programming department.  After graduating with a BS degree in Physical Education from CSU Sacramento, she returned to Vacaville. Wanting to care for her aging grandparents, Becky moved to Rio Linda and worked for the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District from 1988 to 2001 as a Recreation Supervisor. She still works in the recreation field and is an active coach for her daughter's local AYSO team.  When approached and asked to run for the park board, she viewed it as a golden opportunity to give something back to the community that supported her when she was an employee of the park district.

Becky's experience and knowledge of the field of recreation enables her ot make sound decisions about the Park District and her time on the board has been very rewarding.  The current Board of Directors is working very hard to ensure that the recreation programs offered are of good quality and the parks our residents visit are clean, beautiful, and safe.  Each of us believes that collectively, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

Finally, she would like to thank the current Administrator and staff for working so hard with the Board of Directors in establishing a sound Strategic Plan for the future of our community.  It has truly been a team effort from the beginning adn our residents will be able to enjoy the benefits of recreation for many years to come because of the dedication of the individuals involved in the process.

Please don't hesitate to join us at a meeting as the current elected Board of Directors is always interested as to how we can make your park and recreation experience a positive one in Rio Linda Elverta.

Lisa Morris, Secretary

Director Morris moved to  Rio Linda in 1990.  Director Morris and her husband Hal have five children and four grandchildren. In addition to serving on the Recreation and Park Board, she is also a Director on  the RLE Chamber of Commerce(former President),Twin Rivers Unified School District Advisory Committee, (DAC), Orchard Elementary School Oversite Committee. Besides being very active in the Community,  she is dedicated to taking care of her family members that need medical assistance.

She has previously served on  Rio Linda Union School District Citizen's Bond Oversignt Committee, Coach and team mom for Little League.

She ran for the Recreation and Park Board because she has several children and grandchildren and would like to see more activities for young kids, teens, adults, and seniors in the community.  She believes that the RLERPD has made a lot of progress by acquiring Hayer Memorial Race Track- home of the Capitol Quarter Midget Club, obtaining a donated 1927 Fire Truck and having a MOU with Sac Metro Fire to turn old Fire house 111 into a museum for our community and completing the snack bar/ restroom at Babe Best Park.

She is also proud that staff has done a wonderful job making the parks look green and beautiful.  We have a sustainability plan  put into place and this eventually would benefit the district so our District will look nicer and we would use less water in the future. She also compliments our office staff for doing such a superb job. She also enjoys working with other board members to try to make improvements in our Park System.
